April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, started taking lessons on piano and guitar at seven years old. The passion for creating songs was sparked. When she was in seventh grade April started taking piano and guitar lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. When April was 14 years old, she spent the majority of her time developing song ideas and perfecting the music. Then, she began to take trips to NY and LA together with her father so that they could both to write songs. April began including other topics in her book Take My Hand to help her friends who were dealing with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart collaborates with famous clean beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. Her birthplace didn't come having a left-handed hand, which is what makes her the person she is. It's just not the whole story. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not ignore the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't make a point of it. What is the message? The message? That we have many different aspects, that our identity and physical selves are not all that they appear. It's not my intention to let that define me I don't intend to become an influencer where that's all I speak about since there are many different things about me Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. My everyday life isn't directly affected by disability. I lead a normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. It's a big part of my life, therefore it's important that we talk about it. Lockhart inspires us to keep going with self-acceptance. She admits that she has gone through phases where she felt insecure about dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. It's her choice to wear what she'd like, and proudly shares photos of her wearing these clothes. It's a journey is the most important thing. I'm not certain that it will be an end about self-love. This is a process, and I don't think you ever arrive. It's essential to have those that know and appreciate the way you feel. They will be the ones who ask your: What are you think about?
