Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 on an Olympic ceremony. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. She first competed in the national junior championships of 1969 where she placed 13th. She did well in the 1970 competition. At her first international event in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior meeting for communist countries she was awarded three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior championship. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European champion, at her first senior international competition held in the year 1975. In the event, she was awarded four golds and one silver. In 1976 she became the first female to complete the reverse double salo of the parallel bar that was uneven as part of her demount. The American Cup was hers. in the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her first professional work was in the entertainment industry during her teens, when she appeared as a figure skating duo with her older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teens. In her early years she began her journey as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show called Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
